Christmas Eve

As usual here at the ranch, it’s Christmas Eve and it’s time to remember what the year past brought and to plan ahead for next year. It’s a time to be grateful for all that we have and a time to appreciate all the friends and family. It’s a time to enjoy the company of loved ones and forget all the troubles we have. In short, it’s a time for love.

Now many of you may not like me writing about love, I mean that’s mushy for Texans, but really when it comes down to it, that’s all there is. It’s not about getting gifts or giving gifts this year, mostly because of the economy, but it’s about time to find love in your heart for all your fellow man. It’s time to understand those that we argue with, those that we dislike and those that we of course love.

I am certain any one of you could list a number of wrongs that happened this year to you or your family. Maybe it’s the loss of a job or a loved one, but whatever the loss, remember you’re not alone.  It’s time to remember the lessons that we learn as we journey in life, those that invoke fond memories and those that involve painful experiences. Remember, you’re not alone in that emotion you feel, others share it also.

Enjoy your short time here on this ball of dirt we call earth and do it with love. How does all this relate to trial? If you can love yourself and your client and tell his or her story with love, you’re well on your way to winning your case. Have a great Christmas Eve. I’m off to court this morning.
